Carnook Service Station

Carnook Service Station is over in Baner at 81/2 on the 8th Main Road, near the 15th Cross. It is a busy spot where we spend most of the day surrounded by cars, water, and the sound of machines. Our main work is washing cars and doing basic checks to make sure everything is running okay. The floor is almost always wet and soapy, so we have to be careful not to slip while we are moving around. We have a few guys who handle the cleaning, using high-pressure hoses to get the dirt off the wheels and the underside of the vehicles. It is physical work and we often end up quite damp by the end of the shift. We have a small bench where customers can wait, though most people just leave their car and walk to one of the nearby cafes in Baner. The afternoons can get really hot, so we appreciate the shade from the overhead roof. Sometimes we get cars that are covered in mud from long trips, and those take a lot of scrubbing to get clean. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just the stuff we need to do a decent job. We’ve seen the area around the 15th Cross change a lot with new shops opening up, but we just keep doing our regular service every day. It’s a simple, honest business.
