Priyanka Trading Company

Priyanka Trading Company is situated at 1019 Budhwar Peth. We’re right opposite the Shukrawar Peth Police Chowky. It’s a very busy spot in Pune. There’s always a siren or a whistle going off nearby. Being near the police station means it’s a pretty safe corner, though. Our shop is packed with all sorts of things we trade. It’s hard to move around some days because of the crates. We have a small counter where we handle all the cash and bills. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit, but it keeps the air moving. We get all kinds of customers, some who want a lot and some who just need one small thing. Trading is mostly about being on the phone and checking the arrivals. We don't have fancy uniforms or a polished floor. It’s just a regular workplace with a lot of heavy lifting. My hands are usually a bit dirty from moving boxes. We’ve been in this building for quite a while. The address is easy to give out because everyone knows where the chowky is. We start early in the morning before the traffic gets too bad. By afternoon, the street is so crowded you can barely see the ground. We just keep our heads down and get the orders filled. It’s a simple life in a busy market. We wrap things up when the sun goes down and the shutters come rattling down for the night.
