Our workshop and office are in Shrinivas Apartment, over in Narayan Peth. We’re close to Lamington Road and the Kanyashala school. It’s a part of the city where the streets are narrow and always full of people. We work on cooling systems, so there’s usually some metal parts or copper piping lying around. The sound of tools is pretty much constant during the day. We aren't a big factory; we’re more of a specialized team that knows how to put these units together. Sometimes it gets quite hot in the workspace, which is funny considering what we make. We deal with a lot of local businesses that need their equipment kept cold. It’s a messy job sometimes, with grease and heavy lifting, but it’s what we know. The office part is just a small corner with a computer and a lot of technical manuals. We don’t have a receptionist or anything like that. If the phone rings, whoever is closest to it picks it up. Most of us have been working together for years, so we don't need to say much to get the job done. We just show up, look at the orders for the day, and start building. It’s a solid, practical business in the heart of old Pune. We usually keep a few spare parts under the benches just in case a customer comes in with an urgent repair late on a Friday afternoon.
