The workshop is located at Sr No 23 in Hanuman Nagar, right in the Bhaght Wasti part of Bhosari. It can be a bit of a trek to find us if you aren’t from around here, but once you get to the Multani Dhanda area near Pahar Ganj, the directions start to make more sense. We have machines running most of the time, so it is never really quiet inside the building. There is always that heavy smell of oil and metal in the air which you just get used to after working here for a week or two. It is an industrial setting, so don’t expect anything too clean or shiny when you walk in. We keep the tools where we can find them, though sometimes things go missing for a minute when we are in the middle of a big job. The floor is concrete and has plenty of stains from over the years. We started out small and just kept adding more equipment as the space allowed us to. It is getting a bit tight in there now. Most of the guys have been working here a long time and they know their way around the gears and the belts. We usually have a tea break in the afternoon when the sun hits the metal roof and it gets warm inside. People come by with parts that need fixing or just to talk about some work for their own shops. It is just how things go.
