Grove Laminates

You can find us right by the Police Chowki in Bhavani Peth. We’re very close to the Old Ramoshi Gate, which is a landmark most people in this part of Pune recognize. Our shop is basically filled with tall sheets of laminates stacked against every available wall. Because we’re in such an old part of the city, the streets are narrow and it can be a real headache to get a delivery truck in here during the day. We spend a lot of time moving these heavy sheets around so customers can see the colors and textures. It’s physical work and your back definitely feels it by the evening. The air usually smells a bit like sawdust and the plastic coating they put on these things. We don't have a fancy layout or anything. People just walk in, tell us what kind of wood grain or solid color they need for their cupboards, and we dig through the stacks to find it. Sometimes we don’t have exactly what they saw in a magazine, but we usually have something close enough. It’s a bit chaotic when more than two people are in here at once because of all the samples laying around. We keep a small stool near the entrance for anyone who needs to wait. It’s a simple life, just selling laminates and watching the traffic go by the gate all day.
