Being in the 'S' Block of the M.I.D.C. in Bhosari means we are surrounded by other factories. You can hear the hum of machines from the moment you get out of your car in the morning. Our place is at W-148 and 149. It’s a big space because automotive pressings need a lot of room for the heavy presses and the storage. We aren't the kind of company that has a shiny lobby. Our floor is concrete and the walls have some scuffs from moving parts around. Bharat Automotive Pressings is basically a group of people who know how to handle metal. We work in shifts, so there is almost always someone here. The office part is just a few desks pushed together where we handle the paperwork and the orders. It gets pretty warm in the summer months, but we have a couple of big fans that keep the air moving. We’ve had some of the same customers for years because they know we just get on with it. We don't spend a lot of time on meetings or big presentations. Most of our talking happens right next to the machines where we can see what’s going on. The traffic in Bhosari can be a nightmare in the evenings, so everyone tries to finish up on time to beat the rush. It's a busy, noisy, and honest way to make a living, and we’re used to it by now.
