If you ever find yourself wandering around the Bhosari Industrial Estate, you’ll find Berlin Machines Corporation tucked away at 10/2 and 10/3. We are right behind Manav Mandic and the Shradha Complex, near Philips Chowk. It’s a busy industrial area, plenty of noise and movement all day long. We have been in this spot for a good while, and the workshop shows it. There’s grease on some of the floors and the sound of machines is pretty much constant. We don’t have a fancy front office with a receptionist. Usually, whoever is closest to the door just says hello. It’s a practical environment. We deal with machines and parts, so things can get a bit messy, but that’s just the nature of the work. Most of us have been here for years and know the layout of the shop by heart. We don’t spend money on big signs or flashy advertisements. Word of mouth usually brings people to our door at Philips Chowk. We just focus on the metal and the mechanics of what we do. It’s hard work, and sometimes the heat in the estate gets to be a bit much, but we get through it. We show up, do the hours, and head home. That is pretty much the whole story of our day-to-day life here. We just try to stay busy and keep things moving along for everyone.
