Beatrixx Women Empowerment Foundation

You can find us over at B-15 in Rohan Enclave. It is right in the Dapodi area of Pune. To be honest, most people just walk past if they aren’t looking for the sign, but we are here doing what we can for the women in our neighborhood. The office isn’t anything fancy, just a room where we sit and figure things out. We started Beatrixx Women Empowerment Foundation because we saw a lot of ladies around here who just needed a bit of a hand with finding work or maybe learning a new skill so they could earn some money for their families. It gets pretty loud outside sometimes with the Pune traffic, but inside we just focus on the task at hand. Sometimes it’s just helping someone fill out a form or teaching them how to use a computer for the first time. It is a bit of a slow process, and we aren't trying to change the whole world overnight or anything like that. We just want to make sure the women living nearby have somewhere to go when they need support. We’ve had people drop by just to chat and that’s fine too. It feels more like a community spot than a big organization. If you are ever near Dapodi, you’ll see the building. It’s got that lived-in feel, which suits us just fine. We don't have big fancy meetings, just a lot of tea and hard work every day.
