Bamboo House

Our place, Bamboo House, is down in Shivaji Nagar on Kalbadevi Road, specifically at 364/65/3. The address is a bit confusing for some of the delivery guys, so we often have to stand outside and wave them down so they don't miss us. We’ve been in this building for quite a while, and it has that old Shivaji Nagar feel to it. The inside is pretty basic, we used some bamboo for the decor hence the name, but it’s nothing too elaborate or fancy. The tables are sturdy enough, though one or two have a bit of a wobble that we fix with a folded piece of cardboard under the leg. We get a mix of people coming in, from office workers looking for a quick break to locals who have lived on Kalbadevi Road their whole lives. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when it’s full, and the kitchen can get quite hot in the summer months. We don't have a fancy menu or a big corporate office; it's just us trying to keep the place clean and the people fed. The street outside is always blocked with traffic, so there’s a constant sound of honking in the background of everything we do. We’ve grown used to it over the years. We just show up every morning, prep the space, and wait for the first customer to walk through the door. It is just how things are around here most days.
