Balaji Surgicals

We are based at 40 Kharadi, right in the lane where the German Bakery is located. Balaji Surgicals is a small operation, and our space reflects that. The lane itself is quite famous because of the bakery, so there are always people walking around and bikes parked along the sides. Our shop or office at number 40 is a simple room with some storage space in the back. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when we get deliveries in. The walls are mostly covered with calendars and some notes we’ve scribbled over the months. Kharadi has changed a lot, becoming much busier, but this little lane still has its own character. We get a lot of dust from the construction happening nearby, so someone is always sweeping the floor. The door stays open most of the day to let some air in, even if it brings in the noise from the street. We have a couple of chairs for when someone stops by, but mostly we are on our feet or sitting at the main desk. The light from the street lamp outside shines in late in the evening when we are closing up. It is a very plain, honest sort of place. We don't have any fancy decorations or soft carpets. It is just a concrete floor and some metal shelves where we keep our stock. We know the bakery staff and the other shopkeepers on the lane quite well.
