Bakers Basket Shop

Running Bakers Basket Shop here at D/31 Hadapsar Balewadi keeps us pretty busy most days of the week. We usually start the ovens before the sun is even fully up because that’s when the work really begins. The air in the shop gets thick and warm quite quickly, which is nice in the winter but a bit much during the summer months. We have our regulars who come in from the surrounding Balewadi streets, mostly just people looking for something fresh for their breakfast or a quick snack. The counter is often a bit of a mess with paper bags and different lists we’ve jotted down. We don’t have fancy displays or anything like that. It’s just a regular local shop where we put in the hours. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the narrow road outside and there’s a lot of honking, but that’s just life in Hadapsar. We spend a lot of time cleaning up flour that seems to get into every corner of the room. It’s honest work and we like the people around here. There’s a certain rhythm to it, from the first batch of the morning to closing the shutters at night. We don’t have a big corporate team, just a few of us making sure the shelves aren't empty. It’s just us here at D/31, doing what we know how to do without much fuss or bother. We just try to keep the place running and the customers happy with what they get.
