Shivneri Motels

Shivneri Motels is located right near Mapro Garden in Avkali. If you have ever been to this area, you know it gets very busy with tourists on the weekends. Our place is a simple motel for people who need a place to sleep without paying for a big resort price. We have been here for several years now. The rooms aren't fancy, but we make sure the sheets are clean and the bathrooms work properly. My family and a couple of helpers run the whole thing. Most of our day is spent cleaning up after guests leave and getting the rooms ready for the next ones. Sometimes the water heater takes a bit of time to get going, so we tell guests to wait a few minutes in the morning. We have some space for cars to park in the front, though it gets a bit tight when we are full. You can see the hills from the balcony of the upper rooms. It’s nice in the monsoon when everything turns green. We don't have a big restaurant, just some basic stuff if people are hungry. Most of our guests are just passing through or spending a day at the gardens. We stay behind the desk, mostly reading or watching the road. It’s a quiet life in Avkali except for the traffic. We just try to be helpful when someone asks for directions or an extra towel.
