Atlas Copco India Ltd. has been over here in Sveanagar, Dapodi, for quite a long time. Our spot is right on the Mumbai Pune Road, which means we hear the trucks and buses roaring past all day long. It’s a big site, much larger than some of the small workshops you see nearby. Because we’re on such a main road, it’s easy to find, but getting in and out of the gate can be a challenge when the traffic is heavy. We have a lot of history in this building. The walls could probably tell a few stories about how things used to be decades ago. Inside, it’s a mix of old industrial spaces and some newer sections we’ve added as we needed more room. We have people here who have worked on this site for twenty or thirty years, so they know every nook and cranny. It’s a lot of walking back and forth between the different departments. We don't really go in for fancy decorations; the focus is always on the machines and the equipment moving through the bays. The air usually smells like grease and cold metal, which is something you just get used to. We keep a regular schedule, starting early and finishing up as the sun goes down over the highway. It’s a steady kind of place where the work never really stops for long, and we like the routine of it all.
