Athang Oneforone India Foundation

Our office is tucked away in Erandawana, Pune, behind the Ranka Jewelers. We are in the Poonam Chambers building, room 16/3 B, right across from the ICICI Bank. It’s a well-known part of town, but our office itself is quite modest. We are just a group of people trying to do our bit for the community. The "one for one" idea is what guides us, keeping things balanced. We aren't corporate at all; most days we are just in casual clothes, sitting around the table and figuring out our next project. The office has a lot of windows, so we get some good light while we work. We spend a lot of time on the phone and checking our emails. People from all over Pune come to visit us because we are in such a central location. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. Usually, the first person who sees you at the door will be the one to help you. It’s a very informal atmosphere. We think that being approachable is better than being fancy. There are always piles of documents to go through and plans to be made. We just keep at it, day after day. It’s a small foundation, but we try to stay busy and make our presence felt in the neighborhood. Erandawana is a nice place to be based, and we feel lucky to have a spot here. It’s a lot of hard work but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
