Apa Foundation

Our place is at 73/3 in Orangav Pur. Some people call this area Nanak Gad. We work out of Parmod Kumar’s place. It is a very simple setup. It is nothing like those big, shiny offices you see in the middle of the city. We are just a local foundation and we like to keep things straightforward. The area gets a bit dusty when the wind picks up, but it is our home base and we are used to it. We have been operating the Apa Foundation from this spot for a good while now. Usually, it is just a few of us sitting around a wooden table working through the list of things that need to be done. We do not have fancy titles or long meetings. We just look at what people have asked for help with and see what we can actually manage to do that week. Sometimes it is helping with local school supplies and other times it is just helping a neighbor understand a government form. It is the kind of work that does not get much attention, but we do it anyway. The neighbors all know Parmod, so they know exactly where to find us if they need something. We do not have a budget for decorations, so the walls have some maps and calendars on them. It is a very hands-on kind of place.
