Anil Madhav Mendarkar

Anil Madhav Mendarkar runs things from Bhosale Nagar, specifically in the Kuttiyappa Garden area at 902/B. It’s a bit of a hike up to the office, but it gives us a decent view of the surroundings while we work. The space is pretty functional. We have our workstations, a small area to sit and talk, and way too many files stored in cabinets that probably need to be organized better. We don’t have a big PR department or anything like that. Most of our day is spent looking at structural details or going over site requirements. It’s the kind of place where if you come in at midday, you’ll probably find us mid-argument about a specific material or a budget constraint. We don’t use a lot of technical jargon when we talk to people; we just try to explain what’s possible and what isn't. Sometimes things go smoothly and sometimes we have to go back to the drawing board three times before it’s right. We've been operating out of Bhosale Nagar for a bit now, and we’ve gotten to know the local suppliers and the way things move around here. It’s a practical office for practical work. No one is trying to be a superstar architect here, we just want to make sure the buildings we work on actually stand up and serve their purpose well for the folks who use them.
