Anil Hydraulic

Our workshop is located in Shanti Nagar, which is part of the Bhosarigoan area in Bhisari. It is a very industrial neighborhood, so there are always trucks idling outside and the sound of heavy machinery nearby. We work on all kinds of hydraulic systems, mostly fixing pumps and jacks that have seen better days. Usually, our clothes are covered in grease and dark hydraulic fluid by ten in the morning. It’s a messy job and the floor is always a bit slippery, so we have to be careful where we step. We have benches piled high with dismantled cylinders and various wrenches. My father started this place years ago, and I grew up around these machines. We don't have a computer or a fancy system for tracking things; we just write everything down in a big paper register. The heat in the afternoon can be pretty bad, but we have a couple of large fans that keep the air moving a little. People from the nearby factories bring their broken parts to us because they know we can usually get them moving again. We don't do any marketing, we just have our name painted on the front door. It is a simple life of fixing things and making sure we have enough spare parts in the bins for whatever comes in next. We take our lunch under the shade of the mango tree outside.
