Amod Doshi

I’m located over in Shukrawar Peth, at number 362. It’s right near the Ratna-Nagari Building, just off Shivaji Road. It’s one of those older parts of the city where everything is close together and the buildings have a lot of history. I've been working out of this spot for a while. The building isn't the newest, but it’s sturdy and serves its purpose well. Shivaji Road is always buzzing with activity, so there’s never a dull moment when I look out the window. I usually get in early before the traffic really starts to pick up and the horns start blaring. The space inside is quite basic, just a desk and some chairs and the stuff I need for work. I don't see the point in having a flashy office when the work is what matters most. Most people who come by are local or have been coming here for years. It’s easy to find once you know where Ratna-Nagari is. Sometimes the rain makes the street a bit messy and the leaks in the ceiling need fixing, but that’s just life here. I handle most of the things myself or with a bit of help now and then. It's a straightforward way of doing business. No complicated systems, just pen, paper, and a computer when needed. I like the independence of having my own place in such a historic part of town. You get to know the neighbors and the other shopkeepers pretty well. It feels like being part of a community rather than just an address on a map.
