Amit Social Foundation

We are right in the middle of Sadashiv Peth on Bajirao Road in Pune. Our office is in Amit House, which is house number 1902. If you are looking for us, we are right near the C’Lai shop, which is a big landmark around here. This part of Pune is always crowded and noisy, with bikes and rickshaws constantly going past. Amit House is an older building, and our space inside is quite traditional. We have wooden desks and old-fashioned cupboards for all our files. The air always feels a bit heavy with the smell of the city, but we like being in the heart of things. It’s a very central location, which makes it easy for people to find us, even if parking is a nightmare. We usually just tell people to take a rickshaw. Inside, the rooms are a bit small and we have to squeeze past each other sometimes. We spend our days dealing with the public and sorting out various social tasks. There is always someone coming in with a question or a form to fill out. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just the ceiling fans that hum all day long. It's a busy, cramped, and lively place to work. We wouldn't want to be anywhere else because this is where the real life of the city is.
