Ambika Batteries

Ambika Batteries is located in Alandi Chorachi, right in the Tejaswini Apartment building near the Soubhagaya area. It’s a straightforward shop where we deal with all kinds of batteries for cars, bikes, and those big inverters people use at home when the power goes out. The shop isn't very large, so we have stacks of heavy black batteries lined up along the walls. They are quite heavy, so moving them around is our workout for the day. We spend a lot of time checking voltages and cleaning terminals with wire brushes. People usually show up when their car won't start in the morning or when their home backup stops working, so they are often in a bit of a hurry. We just do our best to test the old battery and see if it can be charged or if it's completely dead. It gets a bit messy with the acid and the lead, but we’re used to it. We keep a few tools on the counter and a charger running in the corner. There’s no fancy waiting room here, just a stool if you need to sit for a minute. Being in an apartment block means we know many of the neighbors, and they just drop by when they have a problem. It’s a local spot, nothing more, nothing less. We just keep the doors open and wait for the next person who needs a jumpstart or a battery replacement.
