Phoenix Enterprises

Phoenix Enterprises is out in Alandi, at S. No. 367/398 in Charholy Khurday. It’s a bit of a drive from the main Pune city, so it’s quieter out here. The air is a bit clearer than in the industrial hubs, but we still have a lot of work to do. Our building is a simple structure with a big metal roof. When it rains, the sound is incredibly loud inside. We do a lot of different things here depending on what is needed that day. There are racks of materials stacked up against the walls. Some of them have been there for months. We have a small yard out front where the trucks pull in to load up. It’s mostly dirt and gravel, so it gets muddy when it pours. The team is just local people from around Alandi and the nearby villages. We don’t really do much in the way of advertising. Most people find us through word of mouth or because they saw our gate. It’s a very basic setup. We have a small area for tea and lunch in the back. Sometimes a stray dog wanders in and sleeps under one of the tables. We don’t mind. It’s a relaxed atmosphere but we stay busy. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or anything. We just focus on getting the orders ready and making sure the counts are right before they leave the gate. It is honest work.
