Akurdi Meternety Hospital

We’ve been sitting here on the Old Pune-Mumbai Road for quite some time now, right near the Akurdi Market. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets with all the shoppers and the traffic rushing by outside. Our building, Akurdi Meternety Hospital, isn't hard to find if you’re looking for it. It’s a practical place, really. We don’t have those fancy waiting rooms you see in the big city malls, but the floors are kept clean and we do our work. Most of the people who walk through our doors are locals from around the market or families who have lived in Akurdi for years. It gets pretty loud during the day because of the vehicles on the main road, but inside we just focus on the mothers and the new babies. Sometimes the power goes out or the water tap in the staff room leaks a bit, but we fix it and move on. It’s just how things go in a busy local hospital. We spend most of our time checking charts and making sure everyone is comfortable enough. There’s always someone coming in or leaving, especially during the market hours when everything is moving at once. It’s not a quiet life here near the market, but it’s our daily routine and we are used to the noise and the pace of the Old Pune-Mumbai Road.
