Akhil Kuruhinshetty Koshti Samaj Welfare Forum

Up on the third floor of the Gardenia building in Tupe Nagar, that is where we are. It’s B-303. Sade Satra Nali is a busy part of Pune, and there’s always something happening right outside the window. We are a forum for the community, mostly focusing on our own folks from the Kuruhinshetty Koshti Samaj. It’s not an official-looking place. We have some chairs, a table, and usually a pot of tea going. People from the Samaj come by when they are in the area to discuss family matters or things happening in the neighborhood. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy stuff for us. We just write down what we need to do in a register. Some days are very quiet and we just catch up on news, and other days the room is packed with people all talking at the same time. It’s a bit messy sometimes, with papers everywhere, but we know where everything is. We don't really follow a strict schedule. If someone needs help at 8 PM, we are usually around to listen. It’s more of a community gathering spot than a formal office. We just want to make sure our people are doing okay and have a place to turn to. It’s simple, local, and it works for us. We’ve been in this flat for a while and the neighbors are used to us. It is just our way of keeping the community together.
