Down on Ashram Road in Uruli Kanchan, you’ll find us at the Asmita Building. It's a pretty well-known spot around here in Pune. We have H. NO. 2/0733 and that is where the work happens. Life in Uruli Kanchan is a bit slower than the main city, which suits us just fine. People know where to find us if they need something or just want to chat about what’s going on in the village. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. Usually, someone is just sitting there at a wooden desk with a bunch of papers and a phone that rings more than it should. We started this foundation because we live here and we see the gaps. It’s not some grand plan. We just noticed things could be better for some of the families nearby. Most of the time, our day is spent coordinating small things that people don't really think about. If a neighbor has a problem, they walk in. We don't use fancy computers for everything; sometimes a notebook and a pen are better. The building itself is old but it stays cool in the summer. We keep the doors open so there’s a breeze. It’s just us, a few locals trying to make the days a bit easier for everyone else in the area. We don't have big meetings. We just decide what to do over some snacks in the evening. It is a very simple way of doing things, really.
