If you ever find yourself in the Budhwar Peth area of Pune, you might have walked right past us. We are at Shop No-15 inside the Soba Market, building number 463/64. It’s a really crowded market, especially on the weekends, but that’s the way it’s always been here. We sell lights and different electrical fixtures. The shop is small, but we’ve got shelves stacked all the way to the ceiling with bulbs and decorative pieces. It’s a bit of a maze inside, to be honest. We’ve been here for quite some time, and the neighbors are all friendly people who’ve run their shops for decades too. We don't do any big advertisements or flashy signs. Most people just know us as the shop in Soba Market that has those specific parts they can’t find elsewhere. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we have a couple of old fans that make a lot of noise. We spend our days unpacking crates and helping people figure out what kind of light they need for their rooms. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s our business. Sometimes we run out of space and have to stack boxes on the sidewalk for a bit while we reorganize. You get used to the chaos of the market after a while. It’s just how things are done in this part of town. We keep it simple and stay busy from morning till evening, making sure we have what people need.
