Abhikalpana Welfare Association

If you know Sangavi, you probably know where Madhuban Gali 6 is. We are right there at Jayshree Niwas. Abhikalpana Welfare Association is basically just a bunch of us who live around Pune and wanted to do something useful. It’s not a fancy setup. We work out of a regular building and most of the time you’ll find someone there just sorting through whatever needs doing. We’ve been in this spot for a bit now. Pune is growing fast, and sometimes the smaller neighborhoods like ours get overlooked. That’s why we stay here. It’s easy to talk to people when you’re just down the street. We don't have a lot of formal meetings with suits and ties. Usually, it’s just sitting around a table with some chai, figuring out how to help someone out. We’ve all got our own lives and jobs, but we spend our extra time on this. It feels right to give back to the place where we grew up. The office is small, but it gets the job done. We aren't looking for awards or anything. We just like being part of the community and doing our bit. If you’re ever walking down Gali 6, you might see us. We’re just regular folks trying to make things a little better for the people living nearby in Sangavi. It is a slow process but we are sticking with it.
