Abhati Welfare Foundation

You can find us at Abhati Welfare Foundation over in Hadapsar. We are based in Vardhman Township, specifically in flat F/423. The township is on Sasane Nagar road, which is usually quite busy with traffic and people going to the markets. It’s a large residential complex, so there are always kids playing downstairs and neighbors chatting in the hallways. Our office is basically a converted flat. It’s got a small balcony where we keep some plants. Inside, it’s mostly just desks and bookshelves filled with files. We don't have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. You just ring the bell and walk in. Most of us are from around the Hadapsar area. We like it here because it feels like a real community. We aren't some big NGO with a lot of money to spend on fancy things. We just use what we have. Sometimes the printer jams or we run out of milk for coffee, and someone has to run down to the local shop. It’s a very normal, everyday kind of place. We spend our time planning local welfare projects and talking to people who need a bit of help. Our sentences are a bit long and short as they come. It’s not a polished brochure. It’s just where we work and what we do. Hadapsar is growing fast, and there’s always something happening right outside our window in Sasane Nagar. We like being right in the middle of it. It can get loud with the cars, but we don't mind the noise most days.
