Aarkin Design Studio

If you find yourself in Shivneri Nagar, look for Lane Number 11. We are right there in the Mayur Pankh building at Sr No 3462. A good way to know you are close is when you smell the bread from Ideal Bakery; it’s right near us and we end up eating too many snacks from there. Our studio, Aarkin Design Studio, is not some big, flashy office. It is a workspace where we actually get our hands dirty with designs. We’ve got sketches pinned to the walls and samples lying around everywhere. Nibm-Kondhwa Khurd is a busy area, but our lane is a bit more tucked away, which is nice. We like it here because it feels like a real neighborhood where people know each other. We spend our mornings drinking chai and looking over plans that we started the day before. The light in the studio is pretty good in the afternoons, which helps when we are trying to see small details on a drawing. We are just local designers doing what we know how to do. There isn't any corporate talk here. We just discuss what needs to get done and then we do it. Sometimes the neighbors pop in to say hello or ask for a favor. It is that kind of place. We have been in this spot for a while and have seen the buildings around us grow taller. Pune is always changing, but we are still here in Lane 11, just working through our list.
