A 1 Glass & Aluminium

You can find us at Shop Number 5 in Shattatarka Apartment. We’re on the ground floor, right near the Hotel Senetor in Kothrud’s Lokmanya Colony. It’s a handy spot. We deal with all sorts of glass cutting and aluminum frames. The shop is usually covered in a bit of dust from the cutting, no matter how much we sweep. We make window frames, partitions, and sometimes glass doors for shops. It’s precise work because if you’re off by even a tiny bit, the glass won’t fit right in the frame. We have the big cutting table in the back. Often, we’re out at people's houses or offices doing the fitting. Kothrud has a lot of old buildings getting renovated, so we get quite a bit of that work. It’s a small team here. We usually have the radio playing while we work. Sometimes the delivery truck for the big glass sheets has trouble parking on our street because it’s narrow. We just deal with it and carry the sheets in by hand. It’s not a glamorous job, your hands get calloused and you have to be very careful not to get cut by the sharp edges. But we’ve been at it for a while and we know our way around a glazier's tool. We just take orders as they come and try to get them done without making people wait too long for their windows. It keeps the bills paid.
