If you head down Dhand Road in Fathepur, you’ll see our place, Walia Building Meterial. We are right in the Vpo-Fathepur area of Kaithal district. It’s a straightforward setup. We keep a stock of what local builders and homeowners need to get their walls up and their floors laid. The yard is usually full of sand, gravel, and stacks of blocks. It gets a bit messy, especially when it’s windy and the dust starts flying everywhere. We don’t have a big marketing team or anyone like that. It’s just us answering the phone and helping load up the tractors and trucks that pull in. Sometimes we have to deal with delays from the suppliers, which is frustrating, but we tell people the truth about it. People around here appreciate that. We know most of the guys who come in by their first names because they’ve been buying from us for years. It’s a local operation through and through. The weather plays a big part in how busy we are. If it rains, everything slows down and we just sit in the shed and wait it out. But once the sun is out, it’s back to lifting and hauling. We just want to make sure the materials are ready when the construction season hits its peak. It's a lot of heavy lifting, but we are used to the hard work by now and we don't mind getting our hands dirty.
