Organic Valley

Organic Valley is tucked away in Gousia Colony, over in Namblabal. We are part of the Pulwama Taluk in the Ananthnag district. It is a beautiful area, especially when the seasons change. Our work is tied closely to the land here. We spend our days dealing with what the local farmers bring in. It is not a high-tech facility. We have some sheds and a main building where we sort through the produce. The air is usually fresh, though it gets very cold in the winter months. We have a small stove in the corner of the office to keep our hands warm while we do the paperwork. Gousia Colony is a quiet place, mostly families. We know almost everyone who passes by our gate. We don't use any big machines that make a lot of noise. Most of the sorting is done by hand. It’s a lot of work on the back, but it’s what we know. We don't have a website that we update or anything like that. We just focus on the crates in front of us. Sometimes the roads in Pulwama get blocked, and we have to wait a few days for supplies to arrive. That is just part of living in this part of the country. We take things as they come. It is a simple life and the work is honest. We are just trying to get the best of what grows here out to the people.
