Tooling Systems

Sidco Industrial Estate is a massive place, and we are tucked away in the 4th Phase. Plot No. 48 is our spot, right in the heart of the Sipcot area. Tooling Systems is the name on the door, but most people just know us as the guys at plot 48. It’s a noisy neighborhood with all the manufacturing going on around us. There’s always the sound of metal hitting metal or someone using a grinder nearby. Our workshop is full of heavy lathes and drill presses that have been with us for years. They aren't new, but they work just fine for what we do. The walls are stained with oil, and there are posters from old trade shows that have gone yellow. It’s a practical space, not meant for visitors or meetings. We usually have a pot of tea going in the back near the washroom. The floor is thick concrete because it has to hold the weight of all the steel we use. We spend the day measuring parts and making sure the tolerances are right. It’s a lot of standing and looking closely at tiny details. By the time we shut off the lights, our hands are usually black from the grease. It’s just how the job is, and we’re used to it by now. We finish up and start again tomorrow.
