Saint Gobain Sekurit India Ltd. is located over at A-1 in the Sipcot Industrial Park. Being in an industrial park means it’s a lot of trucks and big buildings all around us. We are the ones working on the glass parts that go into cars and other vehicles. It’s a big operation, but on the floor, it’s just us making sure the machines are running and the glass is coming out right. It gets pretty hot in the plant, especially during the summer months. We have a lot of shifts going on to keep things moving. It’s not like a regular office job where you sit at a desk all day. There is a lot of standing and moving around. We have our routines and the things we have to check every single day. Sometimes things break down and we have to scramble to fix them so the line doesn't stop. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we just take it one day at a time. We don't really talk much about being a big company when we're at lunch; we just talk about our families or what’s happening in the news. It’s a steady job in a busy area. Most of us have been here for a while and know the rhythms of the place. It’s just a manufacturing site where people come to work and do their bit to keep things moving.
