Vpk Brick Industry

Vpk Brick Industry is based at 2/230 in Arasamalai. It’s a quiet area for the most part, except for when we have the machinery running. We have a good-sized plot here where we do all the moulding and drying. It takes a lot of patience to wait for the bricks to dry out properly before they can be fired. We watch the clouds a lot because a sudden rainstorm can ruin a whole batch if we aren't careful. There are four of us who work here regularly. We grew up around here and know the land pretty well. The soil in Arasamalai is actually quite good for what we do. We don't have a big sign or any flashy lights to show where we are. Usually, the neighbors just point people in our direction if they are looking for building materials. Our days start early, usually before the sun is even up, so we can get a head start on the heat. We take a long break in the middle of the day when it’s too hot to do much of anything. Then we get back to it in the late afternoon. We keep our records in a big ledger and we don't really use computers for anything. It’s just a basic operation where we focus on our daily tasks and try to stay out of trouble while making enough to get by.
