If you look for us at No. 30/8 in Kamarajapuram, you will find us on 12th Street. It is a quiet part of the area, but inside our doors, it is a different story. The spinning machines make a rhythmic sound that we have all grown very familiar with over the years. We spend our hours working with coir, and it gets everywhere. You can see the fibers on our clothes by the end of the day. It is hard work, but it is what we do here in Kamarajapuram. The street is narrow, so we have to be careful when moving things in and out. Most of the people working here live nearby, so we all know each other well. We do not use any big corporate talk because we are just a local industry making things work. Nadiyambal Coir Spinning Industries is basically just a group of us putting in the time at the machines. We have some old fans that hum along with the equipment.
