Down here in Pudukkottai Town, specifically at No. 1108 in Periyarnagar, we run Karlog Construction And Renovation Private Limited. It’s a local operation, and we like it that way. Most of what we do involves fixing up old places or starting new ones from the ground up. Renovation work is always a bit of a surprise because you never know what you will find once you start tearing down a wall. Sometimes it’s old wiring that needs replacing or a leak that nobody knew about. We deal with it as it comes. Our team is small, mostly people from around the area who have been in the trade for years. We don't have a lot of fancy technology in the office, just the basics to keep things moving. The town is quiet enough, though the work sites can get pretty noisy with all the hammering and drilling going on. We spend a lot of time talking to local suppliers to get the right shade of paint. It is a lot of back and forth, and sometimes we lose track of time when we are deep into a job. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big titles or glossy brochures. We just want to make sure the building is solid and the roof doesn't leak when the monsoon hits. It is a practical life, and we are happy to be doing it right here in Periyarnagar.
