Ca15Pdk035Chendhuran Polytechnic College is over in Lenavilakku, specifically in the Pilivalam Post area. It’s tucked away in Thirumayam Taluk in Pudukkottai. Most of the people who come here are from the nearby villages and towns. It’s a place where you learn how to use your hands and figure out how machines work. The workshops have a lot of tools and machines that get plenty of use throughout the week. You’ll see students in their uniforms, usually covered in a bit of grease or dust from the practical sessions. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city, so it’s fairly quiet around here, apart from the noise from the labs. The 622507 area is mostly rural, so the college feels like a big part of the neighborhood. We have a few blocks for different engineering branches. The buildings are painted simply and the grounds are kept mostly clear. Sometimes the rain makes the paths a bit muddy, but no one seems to mind much. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just a set of buildings where technical skills are taught every day. The teachers are usually around if a student has a question about a project. It’s a down-to-earth place where people just want to get their diplomas and find a good job. We just keep our heads down and do the work needed to keep the machinery running and the classes on schedule. Most students walk or take the local bus to get here every morning.
