Brandex Apparels

Brandex Apparels is based at No. 15 in Serankadu South, which is just off the main Dharapuram Road. It is a bit of a dusty corner, but we like it here. The building is not much to see. It is just a block with some big windows for the light. We need that light when we are checking the seams on the shirts. Serankadu South is a mix of small houses and workshops like ours. You can hear children playing and the sound of trucks on Dharapuram Road all at once. We have got about twenty people working here on a good day. It gets loud when everyone is talking over the machines. We take our tea breaks outside on the steps. It is a chance to get some fresh air. The floor inside is concrete and it has seen better days. We have stacks of cardboard boxes near the back door ready for shipping. Sometimes the rain leaks in near the far corner, so we do not put anything important there. We just work with what we have. It is a practical setup. We do not have any fancy reception area or anything like that. If you walk in, you are right in the middle of the workspace. Dharapuram Road is the lifeblood of this area. Everything moves through there. We have been at No. 15 for several years. It is just a place where we put in the hours and get things made. No fuss.
