About Spicy Land Traders – Food & Beverages in Pudukad
Kundoor is where we operate Spicy Land Traders from, specifically at Door No.9/60. It’s more of a warehouse feel than a regular shop. We deal with a lot of bulk spices and dried goods. The smell in here is very strong—pepper, turmeric, and dried chilies mostly. If you aren't used to it, you’ll probably sneeze the moment you walk through the door. We spend a lot of time weighing out sacks and tying them up with thick jute twine. The floor is concrete and always has a bit of red dust on it from the chilies. We get trucks coming in from the local farms early in the morning. Loading them back up is hard work and usually takes three or four of us. We have an old desk in the corner where we keep the receipts and the phone. It rings quite a bit with people asking about prices for the week. The rain can be a problem because we have to make sure nothing gets damp, so we keep everything on wooden pallets. My cousin handles the accounts while I manage the workers in the back. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy packaging. People in the trade know where to find us in Kundoor. It’s loud, dusty, and busy, but it keeps us going. We’ve been at this spot for a long time and the building is starting to show its age, but it works for what we need.
