V V Ceramics & Refractories

Our shop is over at 204, M K T Road, right by the Koliyanur Railway Gate. If you know the area, you know how it gets when the trains are passing through. Everything stops for a few minutes and then gets moving again. We’ve been handling ceramics and refractory stuff here for quite some time. It is a bit of a dusty trade, but it keeps us busy. We spend most of our time organizing the stock and talking to the people who stop by. The location is pretty easy to find once you see the railway crossing. Sometimes it’s loud with the trains, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We deal with a lot of heat-resistant materials because that’s what people around here need for their projects. It isn't a glamorous job, but it is honest. We start early in the morning and try to get everything sorted before it gets too hot in the afternoon. My neighbor used to work here too, so it feels like a small family business. We don't really do much advertising. People usually just hear about us through word of mouth or see us while they are waiting for the gate to open. We just try to keep enough stock on hand so we don't let anyone down when they come looking for specific ceramic pieces. It's a lot of lifting and moving boxes, but it fills the day. We usually close up once the evening traffic starts to get heavy.
