True Maks

We’ve been here at No 3 on Vellalar Street for a while now. Most people know us because we’re right in Venkata Nagar, just off the 45 Feet Road. It’s a busy spot in Pondicherry, but our little corner feels okay. I usually get here early in the morning to open up. The traffic on the main road starts picking up around nine, and you can hear the bikes zooming past. Our building is easy to spot once you turn into the street. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular office where we do our work every day. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but that’s just how it is around here. We have some chairs for people to sit if they have to wait. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they’ve seen a lot of years. We just focus on getting things done. If you walk down the road, there are a few tea stalls and small shops nearby. My desk is near the window so I see everyone walking by throughout the day. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans running high to stay cool. We don't have a big sign, but people find us eventually. It’s just me and a couple of others here most days. We try to stay organized with our paperwork. It’s a simple life at True Maks, just keeping the doors open and helping whoever comes through.
