Swathi Masala Foods

Swathi Masala Foods is located at No. 11 on Kali Kovil Street. This is in the Thenkaithetu area of Muthaliarpet. Our street is usually quite busy, especially with the temple nearby. You can often smell the spices from the end of the block when we are working. We’ve been in this building for several years now. It’s a humble setup, nothing like those big factories you see on TV. We handle most of the work by hand, from sorting to packing. It’s just a small group of us working here. We don't have a big office or a bunch of managers. Everyone just pitches in where they are needed. Sometimes the humidity in Muthaliarpet makes things a bit difficult, but we’ve learned how to manage it over the years. We don't spend any money on advertising or social media experts. Most of our customers are locals who have been buying from us since we first opened. They know where we are and what we do. We just focus on keeping the spice mixes the way they’ve always been. It’s hard work and your hands usually end up smelling like turmeric or chili by the end of the day. But it's what we know how to do. We just keep things moving one day at a time, making sure we have enough stock for whoever comes to the door. We hope to stay here on Kali Kovil Street for a long time.
