Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College Hospital &Amp; Research Centre

Down here at 13-A Pondy-Villupuram Main Road in Ariyur, things stay moving from sunrise until late at night. Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College Hospital &Amp; Research Centre is where we spend most of our time. It is a massive campus with lots of different buildings connected by walkways. We see a lot of students in their white coats walking quickly to their next lecture or heading over to the labs. The main road outside is always full of lorries and buses, so there is a lot of noise, but once you get inside the gates, it feels a bit more organized. We have a lot of beds for patients and the waiting areas are usually full of families sitting together. The nurses are always rushing around with charts and medicine. We have a canteen that serves basic meals and lots of coffee to the tired staff. It’s a place where people come when they are hurting, and we just try to get them sorted out. The research side of things means there are always some folks tucked away in offices looking at data or samples. It's a lot of work running a place this size, but the routine stays the same. We don’t have much time for standing around talking, as there is always another patient or a student with a question. The sun gets quite hot on the concrete here in the afternoons.
