Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College & Hospital

Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College & Hospital is located in Madagadipet. It’s a large campus because we have both the medical school and the actual hospital running side by side. You see a lot of students in white coats walking around between classes. It’s a very busy place, almost like its own little town here in Madagadipet. We have many different buildings for different departments. People come from all the surrounding villages to get treatment here. It can be quite loud and crowded in the mornings when the clinics open up. I work in one of the administrative sections, so I see the paperwork side of things. It’s a lot of coordination to keep a place this big running. We don't have a slick corporate office feel. It feels more like a place of learning and work. The halls are wide but often full of people waiting for their appointments. We have a canteen on-site where students and staff grab lunch. It’s a practical environment. We focus on teaching the next generation of doctors and looking after the patients who arrive every day. It’s not always perfectly quiet or organized, but that’s just how big hospitals are. We are a major part of this area and most people around Madagadipet have been here at least once. It takes a lot of effort from everyone to keep things moving along smoothly every single day of the week.
