Sri Anjaneya Earth Movers & Blue Metal Productions

Our place is over on Villiyanur Main Road, specifically at No. 58-A in Pavazha Nagar. It is a dusty stretch of road, especially with the metal production side of things. We have the crushers and the earth movers all in one general area. You can hear the machines from quite a distance away. It’s a lot of grey dust and heavy stones. We spend most of our time making sure the blue metal is sorted and the loaders are actually moving. There is always a layer of grit on the desk and the chairs in the small shed we use for an office. We don't have fancy signs or anything; the sound of the machinery usually tells people they’ve found the right spot. It’s hot work, and the humidity in this part of town doesn’t help much. We start before the sun is fully up to beat the worst of the heat. Most of the guys have been working here for years, so we all know the routine without having to talk much. Sometimes the traffic on the main road gets backed up, and we just watch the cars crawl by while we load the trucks. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s steady. We keep the equipment running as best as we can, though something is always needing a bit of grease or a new belt. It’s just the way it goes when you’re dealing with rocks all day.
