Le Dupleix

You can find us over at No. 5, Caserne Street. It’s a bit of a quiet spot, and we like it that way. Le Dupleix is basically us running this place day in and day out. It’s an old structure, so it has that specific feel you only get with buildings that have been around for a long time. We spend a lot of our time making sure the rooms are ready and that the common areas look decent. There’s always something to do, whether it’s checking the linens or making sure the kitchen has what it needs. Caserne Street isn't the busiest road, which is nice because it lets people breathe a little. We don’t have a big corporate manual or anything like that. We just talk to people when they arrive and try to help them out if they need something. Sometimes the humidity gets to the wood, or a light bulb goes out at the worst time, and we just deal with it. It’s a very hands-on kind of job. We aren't fancy people; we just like running a place where people can stop for a bit. The rhythm of the day usually follows the sun. We start early, get things cleaned up, and then wait for the next person to knock on the door. It’s a simple life, really, focused on the building and the people inside it. It keeps us busy and we don't mind the work one bit.
