Hanee Hand Craft

Hanee Hand Craft is located at 27 Muthamizh Street in the Lawspet Shanmuga Nagar area. We are in Karuvadikuppam, which has a nice feel to it compared to the middle of the city. Our workshop is basically a part of the local neighborhood, and we have been here for several years. We focus on making things by hand, which means everything takes a little longer than if a machine did it. There are only a few of us working here, and we often sit outside when the weather is not too hot to finish off the smaller details. We do not have a big sign or a glass storefront. It is just a regular building where we do our craft. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to chat while we work. We use materials that we can find locally, and we do not try to make things look like they came out of a factory. They have little marks and imperfections because that is what happens when a person makes something. Our street is usually quiet, which helps us stay focused on the tasks we have. We do not have a big philosophy or any grand plans. We just want to keep making our crafts and making enough to keep the shop running for another year. It is a slow way of doing things, but it is the only way we know how.
