Chettinadu Masala

Our shop is located on the second floor of a building at Plot No.10 in Mudaliarpet. It is a bit of a climb up the stairs, but once you get here, the smell of the spices usually tells you that you’ve found the right place. We spend most of our time sorting through different ingredients and making sure everything is handled properly. It gets quite warm up here on the second floor during the summer months, but we are used to it by now. The neighborhood of Mudaliarpet is always buzzing with activity, and we can hear the street noise from our windows while we work. We don't have a big corporate office or a lot of staff members. It is just a handful of us who know the trade and stick to what we know. Every morning we start by checking the inventory and seeing what needs to be moved out. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, we just want to do our job right and keep the quality steady. People sometimes call us to ask about what we have in stock, and we just give them a straight answer. It’s a practical business. We don’t use any fancy machines for everything; a lot of it is done by hand because that’s the way we learned. It keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
