Bala Clinic

Bala Clinic is situated over in Pondicherry, right near the area known as Dsataan. It is a simple place, reflecting the local feel of the town. The weather here is often hot, so we rely on our fans to keep the air moving inside the clinic. We have a small entrance where people step in from the street to get away from the sun. Inside, the setup is very basic. There are chairs for waiting and a small room where we see the patients. We don't have much in the way of decoration, just the necessities for running a local clinic. It’s a quiet life for the most part, though we get a steady stream of people from the neighborhood. Most of them we know by name because Pondicherry can feel like a small place sometimes. We spend our time talking to folks and seeing what’s wrong. It’s not complicated work, but it fills the day. We keep the records in folders on the shelf and try to stay organized, even when it gets busy. Being near Dsataan makes it easy for people to find us without needing a map. We just open up in the morning, do our bit for the people who come by, and then head home when the sun starts to go down. The tiles on the floor are a bit worn out, but they are easy to clean every evening after we finally finish.
