You can find Art Antiqua at 25 Mission Street. It’s an old building, and you can tell by the way the floorboards sometimes groan when you walk across them. We’ve been here for a good number of years. The street itself is usually okay, though it gets quite busy during the school runs. We have a lot of different items sitting around. Some are on the shelves and others are still in the crates they arrived in. We don't really have a system that looks organized to anyone else, but we know where most things are. The front door is a bit heavy and likes to stick in the humidity. We spend a lot of our time just looking over the pieces we have or trying to make more room on the shelves. It’s a dusty job, and we usually end the day with some on our hands. We don't have a marketing person telling us what to say to people. We just talk about the items as they are. Sometimes a neighbor drops by just to chat for a few minutes. We like that part of being on Mission Street. It feels like a real community. The lighting isn't great in the back of the shop, so we often have to bring things to the front to see them clearly. It’s a slow-paced way to work, and that suits us just fine.
